Sisu uses structured literacy. Lessons are explicit, systematic, sequential, and cumulative. Hanna directly teaches phonemic awareness, phonics, spelling, fluency, and reading in connected text.

In plain language: important sounds and patterns are explained clearly, practiced in a planned order, and reviewed over time.

Structured literacy can be appropriate for many students with dyslexia because it is explicit, cumulative, and language-based. Sisu Reading does not diagnose dyslexia or other learning disabilities. A formal evaluation must come from a qualified evaluator.

There is no responsible way to promise a date. Progress depends on your child's starting skills, learning needs, attendance, and response to instruction. Hanna monitors specific skills so lesson decisions are based on what your child can do—not on a fixed timeline.

Each 40-minute session is $50 and is billed weekly. Most students attend two or three times per week. That is about $400 or $600 in a four-week month. Families reserve recurring times, and ending enrollment requires 30 days' written notice. See the Tuition page for all policies.

The camera shows Hanna your child's written work in real time. This allows her to give immediate feedback on spelling, letter formation, tracking, and decoding while your child is working.

A laptop or desktop computer, a USB document camera (such as the IPEVO V4K), a dry erase board and markers, a reliable internet connection, and a quiet workspace with room to write. The full setup is on the How It Works page.

Sisu works with students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The assessment helps Hanna choose an instructional starting point based on current skills rather than grade alone.
